Lately, Avery’s future career of choice had changed from a firefighter to an artist. Â More specifically a painting artist. Although she has phases of wanting to be a marker artist too. Â We’ve been really working with her on learning the alphabet. Â She can sing the alphabet song now pretty well, and she can recognize a bunch of them if she sees them. Â
We’ve moved on to showing her how to write the letters. Â We’ve found chalk to be the most fun for her to use, and she loves it. Â We have an alphabet poster hanging on the wall in our play room, so we’ll reference that when we pick out a letter to draw. Â We draw all the letters, but ‘A’ is our favorite because her name starts with that letter. Â She’ll go up to the poster and look at the picture and try and figure out what letter it is. Â Once she has it figured out, she’ll go back to her chalk table and practice drawing it.
The other day while she was being a marker artist, I was at work, and Christi was in the living room with Hannah when Avery came running in screaming “I drawed a letter! I drawed a letter  ’A’ !”.  Sure enough, she drew the letter A all by herself without any instruction.Â

We are so proud! Â She’s not even 3 yet (but will be in September) and we think she’s a genius. Â The picture above is her showcasing her lasted marker artist creation. Â
